[Error Code] Toshiba E studio 350

    Hello,
I had a tech go out to this Toshiba that said empty used toner. He had ordered a used toner bag that did not do the trick! I went out their today to check for myself and cleaned the waste toner sensor and checked for power at the sensor, 5 volts present. checked the cleaning auger for binding and checked for an auger binding switch which I could not find, is there one? so is the bottle sensor the only thing that senses used toner presents? I also would like to be able to check the sensor through the I/O but I don't have a manual . Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

thanks for the reply, I did not see any connectors on the drum unit that would indicate there being a switch or other electrical component other than the charge assembly.

The sensor is not mounted on the drum unit. Its on the main drive assembly. It is triggered when the drum cleaning auger is pushed towards rear of copier.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

replace the sensor and make sure the disposal tank is clean

Quick fix: don't disconnect the sensor but just let it hang on the side so the costumer can use their machine for the meantime. while u get the new sensor.

great, I cannot see a switch does this mean I need to go to the back of the machine to get to it? There is a hole that the auger goes through, is that where the switch is?

before I replace the sensor, Im going to check the output of the sensor in the 03 mode, yes I found a intervia manual. I still want to know if there is another sensor that causes this problem there might be a auger bind switch but usually that means error codes in most machines I have worked on! I have looked high and low for this switch or sensor and there is no sign at all. there is no electrical connector on the drum unit except the charge connector and I see nothing on the frame, unless there is a switch on the other side of the frame. in the manual looking for a sensor or switch to check for this bind switch or sensor is not in the book.

Im not sure what you mean, your first statement you say replace sensor and tank and your second you say let the sensor hang. so what's bad the tank or the sensor.

their is no other sensor but the one in front of you. make sure you clean the sensor right. I've had this issue 10 times u probably didn't clean it right. just let it hang on the side and if it works its that sensor. but don't disconnect it.

I cleaned it with windex and sharp pointed tool with a rag, but before I blew it out with canned air! so what your saying is there is no other sensor in the machine that will cause a empty message?

I'm sorry I'm coming off so abrupt but I have been getting a lot of conflicting info. and it's a bit frustrating. I don't want to order a sensor if I don't have to. I have to go back to check the sensor in the 03 mode, the more ammo the better. I have done everything you had mentioned, replace the bottle, cleaned the sensor, left the bottle out of the machine and shut the door ( there is no way for the machine to know if there is a bottle or not) had the sensor hang with bottle in machine. the only thing I can think of is the sensor is bad or the logic board is bad. thanks for your help
