    e Studio 35 Add Toner

I think I've figured it out, but I'd like some confirmation. Yeah. I know it's an old one.

The way I figure it, the enduser has been ignoring the "Add Toner" indication. After the first couple times the enduser opens the door while the motor is still cycling. Since it's been interrupted mid-cycle, the toner cartridge receptacle isn't at home position. The cartridge can't mate with the drive coupler, and doesn't depress the plunger at the center of the toner receptacle, and it consequently doesn't drive.

Alternatively, perhaps the screw head that puts pressure on the front end of the toner cartridge is mis-adjusted, and the cartridge is camming out of the receptacle.

Of course I did it the hard way the first time. Once I got the toner bottle receptacle out and in my hand, I could manually rotate it to the home position (top-dead-center, like in the picture). I think, though, that if I had a 16" long tool to depress the plunger, then keyed the door, the toner bottle drive would home by itself. True? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Customer puts cart in 180 degress out of sink , or rotates it as they put it in.
cart end up upside down so the hole lines up with a solid plastic wall.

That was the usual issue, always great for a 300 mile round trip

Aint seen one in about 3 years as we stopped working on them.

    Regards.

        Would this work?

That sounds like the sort of non-specific response I would give. I guess I deserve it.

The reason I ask is that there is a microswitch that detects the rotation of the bottle. It may or may not prevent this from working. =^..^=

Sometimes it works, most not. There was a firmware update (not available anymore) that would fix the stopping point. Even with the firmware it was only 75% effective.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!
