use a surge protector with docucolor?

Would it be an advantage/disadvantage to use something like a panamax 20A surge protector MAX 2 20AMP SURGE PROTECTOR by Office Depot to plug a docucolor 242 into? Would this protect the machine from anything, or just be unnecessary/another thing to glitch inline?

Also while I'm at it, the power is nice and stable here since we got our new generating station in town so I'm unlikely to due to cost, but out of habit from 10 years ago when it was not so I'm still running all my computer equipment on APC smart UPS units with smart boost and trim. Does anyone fit such a device which would provide smart boost in case of any lows / brownouts in the grid power to a docucolor? Something like APC Smart-UPS 3000VA USB & Serial RM 2U 120V or APC Smart-UPS 2200VA USB & Serial RM 2U 120V (1980 watts might be too small for the 16A load though, so probably the previous.) Or would the wave shape from these be a very bad thing for the docucolor?

I would rather recommend a VOLTAGE REGULATOR to minimize (if not, totally eliminate) voltage spikes that will trigger/ cause a surge. If your power source is unstable and there are power cuts/ blackouts, then a UPS with a built-in efficient voltage regulator is highly recommended

I have installed very few voltage regulators over the years, mostly because they are cost prohibitive. For example take the cost of the ESP suppressor, and multiply it by a factor of 10 for an adequate voltage regulator. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
