Does the DC242 require a daily gradation adjustment as I'm used to doing with my canon printers? If so, what is the proper procedure? When I go to the auto grad adjustment on the machine if I uncheck the round circle for copy job adjustment, it won't let me proceed with a grad adjustment. Should I leave this checked even if my intent is to calibrate for jobs through the fiery only?

grayscale needed
Hi,
I searched for a thread in Xerox that was related to my problem hoping for an answer and landed here. I hope this is a good place to ask.
I have a Doc 12 and Fiery X12. I need to calibrate it and have had it print the AutoCal Measurement Page. I don't have a gray scale to put along the top edge however so I'm stuck. Where can I get one (or even a copy of one)?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

The top strip here is the one I calibrate our 242 / fiery with.

Almost every fiery that I've ever calibrated used the q13 chart like the one on that link, the upper chart with the grays from one side to the other.

Make sure you do gradation first, then adjust the scanner in color cal before calibrating the fiery with color cal or densiometer. You will need both the grey scale and color scale for scanner calibration, print out instructions and followComment

Makes sense
Are the instruction available at Xerox.com?
A little background:
Purchased this a few months ago and did not know about shutdown procedure on Fiery. Turned it off after making one print, ruining the software. Took Fiery back where they had a tech come in and reload software because it was still under agreement. Did not truck Doc 12 back so no calibration. Everything, even pages of text now print out with solid dark red covering page.
I did manage to get it to print a photo that did not come out like a red and black duotone once by changing the printer drivers in indesign or Quark, I forget which.
It copies well so I know I can get it to print from the Mac, I'm just behind the curve a bit. My days as a service tech were years ago and I have no training on this machine. I bought this from a vendor of mine mainly to print personal photos for home use so have to rely on myself (with what advice I can find on the web) for service.
You guys have helped me a lot and I appreciate it.
