    [Misc] slow @ start prntingi

When I send any document to my 5955's it takes 40 seconds before it feeds paper. When I send it to my 5775 or 7970 it takes 5 seconds. The software is the newest version.

My customers find it annoying. Any ideas?

what are the settings on the slow unit?

are all supplies/parts low in life count?

how are the printing to each unit?

are there any errors listed in the log?

you give us little to work with!

Check they have the correct print driver and not a WSD port and driver.

I am using a pcl6 driver, and I tried the MS Certified driver.
        The supplies are almost new.
No errors listed related to printing, it had a couple misfeeds from tray 3.

Is your slower machine set to Heavy media type? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I added a tcp/ip port, not using the WSD. The driver is PCL6, and I used the MS certified driver.

On the older machines the 58xx series, I noticed some software versions tend to take longer before it starts to print. I find the "i" series are bloated with apps that slow it down.
