Xerox Color 550 DC250 Soft deletion on Black only

Hoping someone can offer a suggestion for this problem. I have a white band that runs on black only down the page.
Here are the things i've tried:

-Replaced developer/developer housing
-Replaced black drum/charge corotron
-Cleaned ROS (easy method by going from under with a clean cloth -added contaminants but line did not improve)
-Replaced belt
-Recently replaced 2nd BTR

Sort of running out of options at this point....

The 1st BTR might cause it, but I doubt it. More likely you need to clean the ROS from the inside.

Will try to clean ROS, i tried replacing the entire belt assembly with one from another machine and did not work.

are these prints or copies?

The pictures are from copies, but it has them on prints too

Cleaning the ROS window fixed the issue.... I cleaned inside where the laser unit was, but i don't think it was necessary.

Since you mentioned you already cleaned the ROS window I figured contamination could only be on the inside. Glad you fixed it though! Cleaned the ROS from the inside is such a pain...

Hi you are have problem developer housing
check dev.hsg (between the blade and the roller)

I figured that cleaning the window from below would suffice, and noticed that it made no change at all on the line.
But after taking it appart, noticed that trying to wipe the window from under the unit is virtually useless... at least in this case.

Hopefully someone aside from me learns from this. Sometimes it's not enough to try and quick clean the ROS window.

the ROS is the laser unit the shield you cleaned is not the side that is dirty it might be the other side of the glass shield, so take the laser out and clean the other side of the laser shield.

Xerox Color 560 Soft deletion on Black only

Hello,


What could cause damage to the Charge Corotron in the Xerox Color 560, leading to the appearance of such defects (attached images)?
I understand that damaging the Charge Corotron is almost random.
The first thing I did was clean the ROS window, changed the Developer due to defective gears, then switched the Drums with one from another Color 560 and found that the problem moved with the Drum. I suspected it might be a faulty Drum, even though it still had about 30% life left. I replaced it, and the print was perfect again, but not for long. After about 10K copies, the traces began to reappear. Then I decided to only replace the Charge Corotron, and everything was fine again.
I tried cleaning the Charge Corotron with isopropyl alcohol, but it didn't work; it actually got worse.


Please provide guidance on what could cause this type of Charge Corotron damage.
