Altalink C80xx Copy / Scan issue (too dark / too light)

I have seen many of these machines where copies or scans from adf are different than the platen, in one case colour copy was perfect off the glass but dark yellow 1 sided through the adf, how can the same scanner be so different mode to mode especially simplex where the scanner just parks under the df lens instead of traveling for the platen. Its the same scanner! Is there any helpful hints regarding optic cleaning or IIT calibration? Do those 2 specific brands of paper HAVE to be used to calibrate? Any and all insight would be appreciated it makes me wanna pull what hair I have left out!
    Kind Regards!
    A.

Yes, basically the paper that is scanned on the IIT calibration has to be a specific type to get the best results.

You can get a decent copy from the adf if you have a good spec a3 sheet (i found 120gsm to be a good one) and also turn the background removal on as default on the copy settings.

To be honest I've found that cleaning the mirrors makes little to no difference when I get this issue.

I have found that cleaning the mirrors and the exposure lamp can make a huge difference. Also, there is a white strip on the bottom of the glass strip on the left side, I think it runs some white balance off that as well, as cleaning it can make a difference.
I have not found the type of paper makes a huge difference, as long as it's just very white paper specifically for color copiers. And, obviously, use the same paper for IIT and ADF.

Thanks so much for the input and agreed, the paper does seem to make a large difference , doing the iir cal on regular white paper just doesn’t seem to do it. I received the “xerox” paper and did it again and resolved the yellow backgrounding and cleaned the optics again just because. Now the yellow is gone. Go figure. Thanks so much for any and all assistance!

        kind regards ! a.

Hi. Can you specify what "Xerox'' paper did you use for iit calibration?
