Xerox c70 Low Toner Density issue

Hi, i have xerox c70 that has a low toner to developer mix issue and im having problems diagnosing and was wondering if i can get some ideas. the atc bar code numbers are correct, procon on and off checks are good.... if i change to a new drum or developer the image quality is perfect for about 100 pages and then the density and resolution goes to ****... it mostly effects the black but it effects all colors as well if k bad usually they are all bad but i have the least problems with yellow from reason.. Any feedback is appreciated, thank you!

let me correct that the other colors are actually fine most of the time, im having most problems with K... On the fiery start up page, all of the images look good except for the black and white image, looks like absolute *** the density and resoultion is low. like i said i just put fresh developer and a new drum in it, it started off great then the density and resolution fell off quickly, i tried to compensate for this by turning up the tcr values but it burned a line on my new drum.

Check or replace low toner sensor pwb if all colors are affected

Maybe the high voltage board for K developer is worth checking out.

That's what i was thinking maybe, high voltage board for either k developer or maybe even the 2nd btr hvps might be worth checking out, im having a hard time telling after doing a test print check for the tb if the image looks good on the transfer belt or not, black is hard to pick up on the transfer belt...

the other colors do fade over time i usually can correct them though but since my main problem is black its probably not the 2nd btr or the transferbelt.

Check black dispenser, if you have good black with new developer then check dispenser.
Also check dispenser control switch nvm

Have you checked the dev density sensors? Make sure they have been calibrated with the value on the sensor.

Yes, the values for the atc sensors are all correct. while im at it im going to replace the atc sensor as well since thats an easy one to replace, ill start with the toner dispenser, low toner senor as suggested and work my way down to the developer, i guess the auger in the developer could be no good also, hopefully it does need a new developer housing....

I've had this a couple of times on C60 and C9065 machines, new dev unit and dev fixed it each time.

Yes, that worked actually. I had a few old developer units so i used an old unit to replace the roller and the atc sensor then refilled with new developer and so far its working great!

9 out of 10 that it was only the sensor that you needed to change...

Yeah it was only the sensor, the roller had a couple scratches on it and a pretty bad one in the middle that was burning a line on my drum..
