    [Error Code] Xerox 2100 99-395

I am working on a 2100 with a This is a fuser motor over current error; Changed the motor and the whole fuser from a known working machine but it made no difference. initialised NVM's, reinstalled firmware and again no difference. All ideas gratefully appreciated.

When you say you changed the whole fuser, did you change the whole thing or just the belt unit?

Whenever I get fuser errors on these, I always do the same on each.

    1. Take off the belt and oil the wicks. Replace slip sheet if worn/torn.
    2. Remove the fuser gearbox from the back of the unit (not the drive unit) and check for the small gear that loves to wear down.
    3. With the gearbox removed, try spinning the two small idler gears. They should free spin. The larger of the two likes to bind up and will need replacing if too stiff (just replace both).
    4. Check the fuser speed sensor is working. You can operate this in service mode and watch it increase. I have had one fail
    5. Having done step 1, run a couple of pages at 350gsm with +10 fuser temperature before allowing the customer to run their jobs.

I have taken the whole fuser assembly (belt unit, roller and frame), and whole drive unit out of another machine and it still does it; I have changed the decurler too. The only time it errors is when there is paper running through it (even thin stock). It doesn't error when it is on an adjustment cycle. I am thinking now that it might be a dirty power supply or MCU pwb.

I am going to swap LVPS_1 with LVPS_2 tomorrow and see if that makes any difference; I don't have an MCU to hand.

I was also wondering if there is an NVM to set the current limit a little higher?
