00 indicates it has booted to ready. When you say it wouldn't take the USB, did you set the dip switches correctly?

What's the actual symptom for you to say it isn't booting? Is the fiery icon on the Xerox display? Is the fiery appearing in command workstation on the network?

If you have good SW on usb and if you set dip switches as in service manual small led should start to counting and when upload is finished fiery should power off

And then when you set the dip switches to normal and turn it back on, just walk away... Go out and have a coffee. So many times people (myself included), think it's taking too long and hasn't worked. Be patient. I've seen them take a good 20-30 minutes before that startup page comes out

That's what it is supposed to say. The text "Booting the kernel." is the final thing the Fiery outputs to the video port. On the embedded (bustled) Fierys, you will never see anything on the monitor after that, nothing is wrong. They aren't designed to have monitors attached to them. Only the standalone Fierys are.

Ignore the monitor. Disconnect it from.the fiery. Make the usb and set dip switch 1 to ON. Insert usb and turn on fiery. Watch the screen on the fiery and it will start counting C1, C2, C3 and loop. When it powers off, remove the usb and pop the no1 dip switch back up. Then connect the cables to the machine and boot the fiery. Ensure machine is on DHCP.

I think I remember reading somewhere that you must use the same version you had, and cannot use version 2 software if you had version 1.
