    C405 092-320

Tech brought this machine in, said "remove and reinsert cyan toner cartridge.
Said he tried running the motor, but nothing would turn on.
So, first thing I did was update the firmware. Then, reading the rap, it said something
about the developer motor & the "patches" weren't proper or something.
So, reading the chain link for the motor, saw the bus note that said the 24 volt had to be
on first, but wasn't mentioned in the SM. (thank you bus note!).
So I got to thinking...let's turn on the cyan toner motor for a while, then turn on the developer
motors. Did that, rebooted and the error message disappeared. It was just low on cyan toner
for some reason. Ran a test chart, cyan was a bit light, so redid this again with the toner motor
and the developer motor and it got a lot better.

Just not use to this...kind of a newbie on Xerox.

Original toner? I've seen a few of these do this on compatible toner. The machine doesn't know the toner has emptied and it causes this. Throw a fresh toner in, reboot and you are in business again.

Xerox has two different types of toners. "Metered" for Xerox contracted machines and "Non-Metered" for regular people.. You might have a toner that is not compatible. Although, it's OEM, you may have the wrong type for you machine.

We've seen this happen with the feed tube on the dispense assembly getting impacted.

I have also seen this when the ROS goes bad. It can not get a good patch so it keeps asking for more and more toner jamming up the dispense tube and halting the dispense motor. Tho usually you will hear a loud grinding/clicking when the dispense tube us clogged.
