    dc 12 colour moves sometimes

My dccs 50 with fiery xp12 rip sometimes "moves the colour". It happens now and then fx yesterday I printed 5 times 100 pages and in the first 100 it was 30 pages total that was wrong. Next 100 was all okey and then the third 100 was 7 bad and so on. The tec guy told me on phone it could be a magnet that was bad in one or more places of five possible. The cost to repair should be more that to buy a new used newer machine
Anybody has a advice what I could do since I actually dont really trust the people and think they just want me to buy a new machine. It has 55.000 prints and i thougt it would last some time more.

I had a bit of that happen on mine when I just got it. As I started using it more the problems started disappearing and now it never happens. I think my machine (which had 150,000 prints when I got it) had been sitting around for a long time before we bought it and started using it and something that was a bit stuck due to not being used started loosening up when we started using it. Just an idea.

You should clean your IBT assembly. Dissassembly and clean all rollers and ibt belt from inner side. Good luck

i think you have hardware problem.

this is: "color misregistration" or "plate shift"
this is happen in copy mode, isn't it? when you print only 1 copy, problem should not be.

have to replace VSEL PWBA (PL9.2 item 20) or IOT CPU PWBA (PL9.2 item 10)

if you not familiar with machine, have to call technician

btw, try to clean ibt belt patch and clean around, first. check TRO sensor, too

Thanks for answer all of you. Since the cleaning I did, the machine works perfekt again.. as a matter of fact better than ever. Every page perfect and Im so happy. Made over 300 A3 full color and sofar 80 double A4 280 gram in tray five.

Yesterday evening the seller from xerox phoned me and wanted to sell the used 3535 they just got (a mschine he talket about when I was there) and still havnt unloaded from the truck. I said no -I must wait and try to get as much out from my machine as possible before you can have it (they offered me to take it to the yunkyard in holland for free ). See why I dont trust technicians.. Is therer anybody here that should have sad the same thing about the five different magnetcontakts that each would cost more than 1000 euro?? and would have sad that my machine was ready for yunkyard?.

I guess I will by myself a Canon just because the people that sell it here in sweden : *sigh*

First thanks and second. Dont trust the techniciands around here so just have to fix as much I can by myself.. and Im a harley davidson not a xerox mecanic.
The TRO sencor sound interesting. Where can I find it?. The ibt belt I cleanded for some months ago and it was really dirty.lt Worked great after that but I think that I missed to put everything together 100% and thats why I got this new problem.. In my view it should be something with some power problem (maybe with some dirty contact) since it wanted more watts after the last cleaning and reassembling. After that it started to work again soo.... Reason I went to the tech was to get the answer if it was a computercase or som hardware problems.. Left a couple of bad printings there and was happy he phoned me after the weekend.. But.. A mechanic that do and say something like he did will not have a good life and in worst case, not a long one in my other life as a HD wrencher and biker. LOL

first!"if it works dont fix it".Now, the tro sensor is located at the left and back of the ibt unit it controls the rotate of the belt.To my opinion is better to disassemble the ibt unit and blow air on it in order to clean it. Good luck

Xerox DCCS 50...Colour Misregistration or Plate Shift...

Just to add to what Jimmy says about cleaning the silver Ibt belt timing patch,

Check the drum on the inboard end for contamination.
As they wear out you'll notice the black plastic area right on the end that touches the belt and silver Patch, it develops a lot of streaky looking grooves that collect toner and grime.

A brand new drum is completely smooth there.

Turn the drum in the correct direction and wipe the dust and gunk off that area.

It takes a high number of turns to get it all and gives you a longer life for that fix.

                    Hope that helps.

Any other DCCS 50 or DC 12 questions just let me know.

                    Pete.

Thanks a lot for all good advice One problem left but it doesnt come that often anymore. Suddenly the machine stops and tell me to turn it of and on again. Most often it will not continue the work after that.
Could it be more of this electrical malfunction I thought I had? or is there another problem.

Also wonder if its possible to update the driver in my Fiery. In the little frontpanel it says XP12 V1.1 sp2.

I have some newer drivers I downloaded from Internet but when when changing it from my deskpanel in windows it seems it only change the driver from my computer.
Heres ( http://www.femtanfiffig.com/xp12.jpg ) a configuration printout I just made. Its very possible haha that I have made som more bad settings in it since I have changed itr a lot and never had a pro from start to help me.
Will be more that happy as always for any help

Most likely the machine will report an error code when this happens, like 9-363 (which I had yesterday) or something like that. This code can then be used to find out the problem and the solution.

There should be the error code on the bottom left of the screen on the printer, just a number with one digit followed by a dash and 3 digits.
