DC-12 "insert coin" message

Is there any device plugged into the machine anywhere? Like an extra plug/cable on the outside of the machine?

That cable plugged in below the two wide interface cables at the top back...what does that go to? That is not a typical cable connection used on the Doc 12/50. Get a pic of what that cable is plugged into and post.

Does your DC50 have an edit pad? Or an RDH on top?

I apoligize. the small gray cable under the two other cables plugs into the top "scanner cover" unit.

on the top is EDIT PAD, not scanner.
to disable "insert coin" change NVM
700-096 PA Entry Key - Coin Kit

0= OFF
1= ON

stil says insert coin.

steps Im taking:

Turn machine power on.
xerox screen
4 beeps
"insert coin"
hold 0 and "start" big green button.
enter 6789
nvm edit
enter number
700096 value = 0 new value = 0
close
machine reboots into options screen
done
machine reboots
xerox screen
4 beeps
insert coins
"MUTHER F####"
thats pretty much been my morning
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
I hope its just an ID-10-T error on my behalf!
