    DC 5000 Fuser Nip

    Hi
Have to change pressure roller on this one. Is there UI Service Diagnostic Mode with standard password (0+start, 6789), and option to check Fuser Nip. Also, what are Nip Adjustment settings for IB and OB?

    Thanks

you need to conect with pws to check fuser nip or run the fuser nip adjustment.

      Thanks for answer.
I don't have pws for this one. That's why I'm asking could I run fuser nip adjustment through UI diagnostic?

There is no pressure roll, it's a pressure belt assy. There are no ui diagnostics on the 5000.

                  Enjoy !

                  ADJ 10.1 Fuser Nip
                  Purpose
The purpose is to ensure that the proper pressure is applied to the print as it passes through the fuser.
                  Check
                  1. Enter
                  DC701 Fuser Nip Measurement.
                  2. Select a tray with either 8.5x11 (A4) or 11x17 (A3) 24lb (90gsm) paper.

                  NOTE:
For best results use Xerox Color Xpressions paper.
                  3. Select Start.
                  NOTE:
The print comes out upside down. Ensure that you mark the black side of the print Inboard and Outboard.
                  4. Remove the print and mark the Inboard and Outboard side of the print.
                  NOTE:
The Fuser Nip is located about the center of the print on the black side.
                  5. Select
DC612 Color Test Pattern Print. Select Pattern 7 Color Reg. Run three prints.
                  6. Perform
DC701 Fuser Nip Measurement two more times after waiting at least 30 seconds between each run and perform

                  DC612
Pattern 7 Color Reg. between each nip check

                  NOTE:
                  Steps
5 and 6 are performed to stabilize the Fuser.

                  7. On the last of the Fuser Nip Prints, measure 10mm in from the edge of the sheet at the Fuser Nip on the Inboard and
Outboard side of each of the prints.
                  8. The Fuser Nip specification is:
                  3.8mm .2mm Inboard

                  3.8mm .2mm Outboard

                  Adjustment
                  1. Pull out the Transport Drawer to the service position.
                  2. Open the Inverter Transport.
                  3. Open the Fuser Exit Chute Assembly.
                  4. Adjust the screw(s) located through the hole in the P/R Finger Bracket:
To increase the nip, turn both screws CW.

To decrease the nip, turn both screws CCW.

                  One full turn equals .5mm.

although xerox says its mandatory to do fuser nip adj after you change h/roll . I dont do it on dc5252 or dc5000 unless i see any quality issues.
My DC5252 has run 1.5 mil and DC5000 1 mil and i ve changed a lot of H/Rolls on both just did fuser nip adj on dc5252 once .

If you are keen on doing adjustment buy a eye loop , otherwise its hard to see 3.8 +/-.2 mm with naked eye.

I had some problems with heavyweight paper, but it was caused by fingers on heat roll.I have feeling that there is too much pressure when working with normal paper. Now it's working, and i'm going to leave it that way, until get pws.
                      Thanks all for replying
