Xerox Phaser 6200 "Engine Firmware Failure"

I just got a service call on a Xerox Phaser 6200, with an "Engine Firmware Failure" message. Also doesn't recognize the drum cartridge any more.

What is involved in re-loading the firmware (or replacing the firmware DIMM)? Is it even worth it?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

do ya know what kinda code ya had with the "engine firmware failure".. the different codes are 70,71,72,73,74,77,78, and 79.. it appears though as if ya may be looking at a bad engine control board.. i've tried to copy, paste, and modify a couple of documents here for ya that may help.. good luck..hope it helps..

This is great information. I'll try the firmware update, but I suspect it's futile. Thanks a lot.
