5675 scanner fault with ledger on glass

If client uses adf to feed ledger it works fine letter on glass works fine.
if they place ledger on glass it goes into an error and makes them reboot before they can use machine again.
Says scanner fault.

Any ideas?

There maybe a break in the scanner cable. Sometimes they break inside the insulation.
