    WC76xx / DC250 - Not printing square, geometry off

I have a new problem on a 7675 machine that has left me stumped. Initially appeared that side 2 of any print was crooked. Just side 2. Went through some normal checks, even swapping the entire transfer drawer with a machine that is printing perfectly, and the problem never went away. (Also swapped the Transport 1 and Transport 2 from the good machine and no change.) All components are back in their correct machines now.

I did the fine (manual) adjustment of the registration transport, and I can get it so that side 1 is perfectly straight to the Lead Edge, and mostly straight to the top, bottom and tail edge, but side 2 is still quite bad. (Skewed by a couple millimeters.)

Printed a 8" x 10.5" box (theoretically .25" in from all four sides) and used a straight edge and discovered that the box isn't quite square.

Can't find ANY kind of info on how to tweak or adjust skew or parallelism in the service docs or bulletins... I guess this machine is supposed to self-correct?

Also carefully checked the registration transport with the covers off, and it seems to be physically squaring the paper excellently. (And, when swapped with the good machine, the problem didn't go away.)

Does anyone have any ideas on what a good next step would be? Could it be a problem with my laser units? Color-to-color registration is flawless, though...

    Any advice much appreciated. Thanks!

Don't know much about X-rocks, but is your machine a single scan device, scanning both sides of the original simultaneously? If yes, you've got two scanners, front and back.

Otherwise it just doesn't make any sense that the same optics for side #1 would optically skew side #2.

If it were paper skew the image would retain it's general squareness but just be twisted on the page. Perhaps there is a separate laser image squareness adjustment for side #1, then side #2. It's not logical, but maybe?

I'll be interested in the resolution. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

First check the printed box on IBT. If you use yellow or cyan for printing will be easy to check.

Thanks very much for the followups!

blackcat4856: This is occurring during printing, so the scanner isn't involved. I agree, it seems highly unlikely that the optics would be different for front and back. When duplexing, side 2 is usually slightly less "good" compared to side 1, because of the paper being cooked once already, so I am wondering if it is a combination problem... The prints being slightly non-square plus the paper being twice-baked combine to make it more noticeable. Unfortunately, I can'y fine ANY kind of skew adjustment, much less an independant one for side 1 and side 2... Will let you know what happens.

adriansto: Good idea. Will do and report back.
