    [Misc] GR3770 Image alignment problems

    Hi,

I've been experimenting with 2 colour printing on my gr3770 and I'm having real issues getting the alignment right. After I run a test print, I adjust the alignment using the buttons on the panel and the dial at the paper feed area. The next print is miles off again though. And when I print multiple copies, each one is align differently.

I've looked in the manual and have made sure the feed guides are flush to the paper but still no joy. Is two colour printing too adventurous with this machine or am I missing something?

    Thanks

    Jono

Most likely the 2 one way springs in the 2nd paper feed area. Or feed clutch, feed tires, sep pad, feed tire cores, drum drive chuck or pin slipping. Tolerance in plus or minus 2 mm.

      Thanks 20gaugeO/U

How can I determine the problem/solve it? Or do I have to just deal with the 2mm tolerance and design my artwork around it?

      Thanks

      Jono

Run some sort of test chart or something with lines that you can measure to the lead edge. Run 25 copies on speed 1, speed 3 and speed 5. Does the reg move more on higher speed? If so I would guess the 2 one way springs aren't grabbing like they should. 2mm is tolerance, but 6 or 7mm means something is failing. Or it could be a small combination of all the before mentioned.
