[CQ] MFC-8890DW makes copies that shift the original image 1/4 inch to the left

Is this vertical shift of the image to the left on copies something that can be adjusted on this model, or will this require a part replacement, and, if so, which part?
    Thanks

Are you a tech? Does it have any skew or is it a non-trapazoid shift? Is it in the direction of scan? Does it do it on print mode? If you answered the first question no ,di-regard the rest.

I am a tech, although unfamiliar with this type of problem.
The problem only occurs on scans and copies, not prints.
There is no skew, it is not tilted diagonally.
It just shifts the image vertically, to the left, about 1/4 inch; it's just like you had laid the original on the glass, but had not centered it properly. The left side of the copy is cut off.
        Thanks
