    canon np6050

I am not a tech. I am a member of a really small volunteer fire department was was donated a canon np6050 printer with no documents at all.
I am trying to get the machine to work. It powers up fine but stays on enter id number. At that point, using the keypad does not change the zero's in the display screen. We can not afford to bring a tech from the city all the way out here to Horseshoe Bend Idaho...any help would be great!!!!

    Thanks.

    To Cancel ID Mode

I must had had to figure this out once, long ago.
    To cancel ID Mode:
Press *, ID, Stop, *, Store User ID#, OK.
Press Clear All ID#s, OK. (Storing all ID#s to 000000 will also cancel ID Mode.
    Good Luck!
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Wire rope?

Are you talking about the scanner cable? That is very unusual for that to come off. Watch for any damage to light source one (the section that has the exposure lamp). If it takes you less than one hour you are pretty damn good.
