    HP DJ800, second opinion

The plotter shows a diagram of the plotter on the screen with a flashing X over the right hand side. I have never seen that before, nor had the guy I used for tech support. I couldn't find it in the manual. I pulled the nic and the formatter. The hdd was hot. Had probably been sitting like that for a day. I ordered a new formatter with the disc and a new dimm. Should this fix the issue or could there be another issue?

Have seen that icon when performing the emergency firmware loading procedure (think that was it.....been a while). The HDD/formatter should take care of the problem. Good call on ordering the DIMM too. It may have gotten fried if the HDD was that hot.

I had this for the first time a couple months ago, and it was a failed electronics module.

I forgot to update. Repair just happened last week. The electronic module fixed the issue. Once it started to boot, got 63.03 code which was confusing because it wasn't networked. Found the error was in the tn620. After getting it to boot, I reinstalled the old formatter and verified that it was also bad. Working great.
