    DesignJet 111 error

    Hi all,

Replaced the ink supply station on this unit due to leaky cartridge and now just throws error code on display. I know that on the larger units there is a sync between supply station and formatter. Is there one on this, and if so, how do I perform it? The error is 2 dots over the very left column, 2 dots over the Cyan column, and 1 dot over Yellow or just to the left of yellow, with wrenches and attention light flashing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe I'm just not interpreting it correctly, but, the code makes no sense.

Are you able to snap a picture of the panel? Those dots tell what the code is and in order to interpret it correctly, we need to know EXACTLY which place they are in and whether any of the dots are flashing.

I haven't replied because I don't repair the 100 series Designjets. They're called HP's 'ultra low-end' for a reason. I don't think they were meant to be repaired.. and certainly aren't priced to be. But as Lance said, a picture is needed of the error because you have to count those dots to know what the error code is.

I don't see anything in the manual about replacing the ISS that needs to be done. If you connect the old one does the error change or go away?

I wonder if, when replacing the ISS, you should reprime the tubes.

Not if you didn't replace the tubes. It's very similar to a 500.

I do have a picture of the op panel now, sorry for the delay, I was away and the school was closed for the summer. I don't know how to add the picture.
If someone can help me with adding a picture, or I can email it to anyone that replies with their email.

            Thanx again for the replies.

So that means 22:10; Ink Supply Station Failure, which isn't a surprise since it's the part you replaced. Check the connection from the ISS to the main PCA.. look inside the connector for any bent pins. If nothing looks amiss, you may have a bad ISS. Try connecting the old one temporarily and see if the error goes away.
