Received a call for hp2550 only printing in black. Have seen this printer but haven't serviced one or know much about it. Did talk to someone today and from what they read this could be a nightmare???

This is one of the last carousel color devices. I've worked on a few. If the carousel was getting jammed you would only get errors, not B&W only.
I think I'd start by swapping a new color toner cartridge first. If that color comes back swap in the other color toner cartridges. The refill toner cartridges have a very poor success rate.
Keep in mind that you can very quickly pass the value of the machine in service costs. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The biggest issue with these that I've seen and fixed over the years is the sticky solenoid in the rotary drive assembly.
Like blackcat said, very easy to surpass the current worth of the printer.Comment
