I'm not to familiar with this printer, it has a supply error that wont clear and the printer will not print. I have done the basics, unplug, restart, tried a new known working toner from another printer. I have checked the chip reading sensor in the printer and it is in place, I even cleaned it with an air brush. Any Ideas on how to clear the message?

Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01
Defective toner ctg.
Probably. There's a little chip on the cartridge, and the machine has two little contacts that bump up against it. Chances are, it's a reman ctg, and the chip is bad. Or it's the wrong chip. Somethimes, thought, the little contacts on the printer get messed up. -
Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01
I believe you already know that the error is on the cyan toner.
Sometimes toner replacement does not help and it is necessary to remove all toners, restart the device and reinstall the toner.
Also you can bypass the cartridge check.(turn to off)Practice makes perfect
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
A picture is worth a thousand words
If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself

Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01
I did not read all of your post. The chip reader is on a little spring. Make sure it is working. You might have to replace the chip reader. If you have another machine, you could swap to make sure. Although they probably don't cost much. After all that work, you might as well just replace it anyway to make sure.Comment

Like he said:
On previous models it's always been the EEPROM on the cartridge, and usually its a re-written EEPROM on an aftermarket cartridge. Do a simple cartridge swap for starters. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01
I did try swapping out toner cartridges, first, when I was there last week with no luck, also, checked to make sure sensor was attached and cleaned properly (the chip reader in the printer) had the printer off without a cartridge, waited for the initialization, installed toner cartridge, same error. I went back and turned of the cartridge check in admin and it passed event log pages, however, when you restart the printer, it goes back to the cartridge check and errors out. So, with that being said, I will order a new chip reader and see if that resolves the issue.Comment

Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01
Hi Guys,
I have the same problem with a HP M527 (built on the M506 printer), I've replaced the chip reader and hvps that it plugs directly into with no luck. It still boots with a supply memory error.
Next I'm trying the DCA Control board...
What fixed yours?Comment

you throw all these expensive parts at a machine that really doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the SUPPLY ERROR!Comment

Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01
I ordered the chip reader ( RM2-5702-000 (TAG assembly)), but am still waiting on it, so have not had a chance to replace it. I don't know what is happening with our parts dept, lately...but all of our HP orders are taking longer than normal.Comment

Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01
The CPMD I have doesn't have this exact error. For some strange reason, when I try looking at the latest document on CSN, I'm told I don't have permission. Strange.
I read through the readme for the firmware, but, there was no mention of firmware fixing this issue.
These little POS's are such junk (I've worked on a couple), there probably IS something wrong with a board somewhere.Comment

Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01
WASTE of time ... the ERROR is DUE to re-manufactured TONERS... a NON HP CHIP is detected... you SHOULD be able to press the CHECK MARKED button to bypass this message.

Just not sure if HP has some hidden reset mode or something in the pre boot service menu, I could not find anything.... I already tried a hard reset no luck.Comment
