If its jamming before the paper feed asm, try replacing the paper p/u asm.

    RG5-2672 500-SHEET P/U ASM

    RG5-2683 250-SHEET P/U ASM - UPPER
    RG5-2684 250-SHEET P/U ASM - LOWER

If its jamming at or after, could be paper feed asm, registration sensor block (sensors and flags - a bear to replace as its under the engine board), or registration asm.

If that does not work you could try swapping the paper tray with another, because sometimes the guides can get worn and loose.

I seem to recall a 4050 that the letter tray would pop open all by itself during pickup. The tray has a locking feature molded into the plastic, and this one was worn out. I replaced the tray to fix this problem. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Sorry, forgot about that. Usually 500-sheet tray problem is with blue paper stop at the end. Consists of plastic tabs that slide into a metal leaf spring. These parts can be ordered or you can just replace the tray. A weak spring or defective tabs will cause paper to slide to the back, p/u assembly wouldn't p/u paper and printer would indicate jam or add paper message. It may be your problem and could definately be an intermittant problem. The stop should slide back, but not very easily. Not usually a problem in the T units.

          RB1-8951 leaf spring
