hp m527z 31.03.20 scanner error

I have a customer with 5 of these. all have thrown this code and 31.03.45 at some point. usually when trying 2 sided copy. so far fix for 3 of these has been replace adf. No specific reason why failure happens and HP has not owned up to what the failure is. along the way ive tried firmware, scb replacement, and scanner replacement. But adf replacement has been where most of the problem gets solved. Any tech out there ran across this problem?

same as you replace the adf.. most times my customers said 'F' it and went and bought a Brother color MFC

Since I'm still having the issue the m527z adfs failing. And i can only order OEm Adf B54l 67902 im wondering if the dual scan problem is fixed with new part numbered adfs i cant get such as b54l- 67906 or etc?
