    Modding a duplex fuser drive assembly to use in a simplex model

    The simplex fuser drive assemblies are no longer available for the CP3525/CP4525 printers. The duplex ones still are, though. It's very easy to modify a duplex assembly and use it in a simplex model.

    The first picture is just a comparison between a simplex and duplex assembly.

    Referring to the second picture:
    Remove the screw that is circled
    Lift the plate at the rectangle just enough to remove the stacked gears along with the belt being careful to keep the nub on the gear in the slot on the plate (red arrow).
    You can leave the gear on the fuser end. The stacked gears do the work. If they aren't there, the gear at the fuser isn't going to do anything.

    These pictures are of one I did today. Everything works as it should.
