    HP Designjet T120 ink problem?

Got a customer who has been getting ink system error messages.
I couldn't get the printer to fault.

The last 2 errors, according to the error list print out are ink related:

0x00000017 26:10 Generic Ink Supply Failure.

0x00000014 26:10 Ink Sensor detected unexpected OOI

They have replaced Yellow and Black ink cartridges recently.

Don't see much of these printers so if someone could point me in the right direction.

    how many feet printed?

are they using genuine OEM HP ink?

    did you clean the sensor?

do you have the manual for the unit?

what have you done to it?

If I had to guess, you probably have a bad printhead. If it was replaced recently, return it to where it was purchased as defective and get another one. Make sure you wet the plenums that insert into the head as it's closed. Just water is all that's needed.

If non-HP ink cartridges are being used, replace them with HP cartridges before replacing the printhead.

No I didn't clean the sensor as I don't know where it is or it exists.

I do have manuals but have only just managed to find one on the internet that mentions those errors.

Done nothing to it as it wasn't faulting when I saw it.

As mentioned in my original post I hardly see these machines so I have bugger all experience on them (or any inkjet printers) plus I have not had any training on them.
I don't want to waste my and the customer time and money.

No doubt a failed printhead. These printheads are known junk. I keep one in stock at all times for a couple accounts that have either the T120 or T520. I've replaced several in the past.

Can't get them from HP. I ordered from Amazon.

Remove the ink cartridges and the printhead, restart the printer, and then reinstall the printhead and the ink cartridges. Removing and reinstalling the ink cartridges and the printhead can clear the error displayed on the front panel.
