From feeding jams to transfer belt errors, this solenoid failure has generated a bit of service calls for techs.
I've seen all kinds of stuff out there, felt pads, electrical tape, mylars... etc.
I tried electrical tape but seems you need the right amount of layers, if too thin the plates will magnetically stick, if too thick the pawl will not disengage from the clutch. So its kind of a hit and miss.
What do you use to replace that sticky disintegrating noise dampening sponge?
I might try this weatherstripping tape 1/16" thick:
