    HP LaserJet P4014n

Hey guys long time no see but I find myself in a bind. I just went onsite to replace the fuser and fuser drive gear assembly on a printer that was making grinding sounds. Obviously fuser is easy shit but searching for the fuser drive assembly in the manual only pulled up it's listing on the part list pages and I could not for the life of me find a comprehensive teardown guide for it. So I just fell back into track what you're tearing apart and work towards it, I probably disassembled 35% more of the machine then I needed to but eventually got to that little assembly and replaced it.

Now the machine is assembled and I'm running into an issue. The thing will not print an event log or menu map, I was just using these to make sure the thing worked at all but they don't. No errors or anything, only noises coming from the machine are default fan noises that are always there, nothing spins up or fires or anything. It just stays there with the 'printing' message on the display. I don't know if it's related but also every time I turn the machine off and on again the printer says memory error until I re seat the cartridge. I'm onsite now if someone has a good idea I can try before having to walk away with the printer in worse shape than when I arrived I'd appreciate it.

Did I miss a cable or something on one of the PCB? It feels like that would give me an error message.

If you're not getting any rotation check the motor connections at the motors and the controller PCB. If it worked before ..... Memory error could be a connection also from where the toner chip is read by the printer.

I had assumed wires were the most likely culprit so I went ahead and re-checked them while waiting for a response, you were exactly right on the money. One cable for drive power, and one running right up to the chip reader missed on the way up. Thank you for the quick and accurate responce. +1, thanks, and rep up.

It sounds like you missed a connector. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Suggestion I have is to always take pictures along the way as you teardown... especially of the system board. Helps at the backend to help you remember where things go.
