Am have trouble with Hp Design jet T 830 wide format with error 0087-0001 Carriage jam massage on the screen, i have changed a new Encoder strip no change.

Was there anything wrong with the old encoder strip? Does the carriage move at all when you power up the printer? Can you move the carriage back and forth relatively freely?
If you've replaced it correctly and with the correct part and still get the error, the next thing to replace would be the carriage in my opinion based on the code. Unfortunately the encoder strip sensor is part of the carriage (you can replaced just the sensor on other printers) so you must replace the entire carriage.
The encoder strip goes in a very particular way with the smiley face on the left upright. If it's installed upside down it won't work.

Replacing the Encoder Strip on the T830 is exactly like replacing it on the T100 plotter I worked on recently. I initially didn't install it correctly. I knew it didn't look right, but, I didn't take pictures beforehand (stupid me). I eventually went back and found the slit it was supposed to go through.
It didn't fix my issue, though. Neither did lubrication. I ran the carriage test and it said to replace the carriage. Customer didn't want to spend the money to replace it.Comment
