    Designjet T730 SV vs AmpXL

I'm trying to find a carriage assembly, as shown in the parts book, which would include the trailing cables, sensor, and a couple other parts (P# F9A30-67061). I ordered one of these not long ago and it was less than $200. But I'm not seeing it for sale at all my usual places. Parts here has something listed, but I can't tell what the difference is between these two parts (other than price). One lists as "Carriage - Carriage Assembly 36inch SV" The other lists as "Carriage Assembly - AmpXL 36 Carriage assembly"

One is less than 200--the other lists as almos 1300

F9A30-67061 HP AmpXL 36 Carriage assembly at Partshere.com

F9A30-67069 HP Carriage Assembly 36inch SV at Partshere.com

    This is crazy.

You mean other than the $1100 difference in cost?

From what I can tell, F9A30-67069 is just 8 additional improvements to F9A30-67061. I can't imagine desiring the unimproved original version. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

F9A30-67069 replaced F9A30-67061. Not sure what Partshere is smoking. I never use them.

I ordered the one from HP. Installed, and it didn't help my problem. Grrr... these t730's are job security.

This problem started over a month ago with a leaky printhead and the paper read error. I cleaned up the ink, and told the cust to order a new printhead. He installed the new printhead himself, and all worked ok. Then, 2 or 3 weeks later (after plenty of use) the printer said "printhead missing or not recognized." I put his old leaky one back in to test it, and got the same message (the old printhead had never given that message before). So I ordered the carriage unit (which includes trailing cables). I installed it today and it still gives me the printhead missing message.

          Main board?

There isn't much else left. The carriage includes ribbon cables, so you can rule that one out. =^..^=

I would rule out it being the printhead first. If it's been within a year, HP will replace it under warranty. Otherwise you'd have to buy another one. If you've already ruled it out, then yeah, main PCA would be my next guess. There isn't much else left.
