Customer is asking if there is some way to turn off the Auto Paper calibration. Saying it does it several times a day and is wasting paper. I have looked and can not find anything about it.
About the only reason I can think of that it would auto-calibrate the paper is if the paper were wrinkley, warped, poorly wrapped, detached from the roll ... all paper issues. There's more to this. You'll have to go out to the site to see what's actually happening. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
I never heard of an "automatic" paper calibration. It's an option through the front panel you can run on demand, but there's no option to make it automatic. I would verify what it is exactly the printer is doing. If it's wasting paper, is it printing some sort of diagnostic? Alignment pattern? I went through the service and user manuals and I can't think of what they're describing.
By the way, if they've messed with the paper advance calibration, I would reset it to the factory defaults. I've never once had this option solve a problem, and running it often causes problems with the image quality; namely fine white lines through the print because the printhead passes are no longer close together.
Also make sure they're picking the appropriate type of paper on the front panel when loading the paper. Let us know if it's something exotic.
