    [Misc] HP DesignJet T1200

    Hello:

    Does anybody could please help me with this problem?

    As you can see in the images thumbnail_IMG_5694.jpgthumbnail_IMG_5693.jpgthumbnail_IMG_5692.jpgthumbnail_IMG_5691.jpgthumbnail_IMG_5690.jpgthumbnail_IMG_5695.jpgthumbnail_IMG_5699.jpg
    there is a gap in the printed lines.

    The plotter is HP DesignJet T1200. I performed the printhead alignment but the result is canceled by the printer.

      I think I'd examine, and possibly clean the encoder strip. Ink on the encoder strip can cause this effect. A sticky carriage rail can also cause this effect.

      The encoder strip is a silk-screened strip of mylar that's read by a photointerrupter on the carriage. The machine uses the encoder strip to determine the relative position of the the carriage. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Blackcat is right. Encoder strip is dirty or the belt needs to be replaced. If neither of those, you have a bad encoder strip and/or encoder sensor.

          Clean the encoder strip with a damp paper towel. Do not use any kind of solvent or alcohol. Pinch the strip between your fingers and the wet paper towel and run along its length gently.

              GENTLY is the keyword. Rub too hard and you'll wipe the marks off the encoder strip, then you'll have to replace it for sure.
