hp 3050 feed solenoid repeatedly firing

This was brought into my shop completely in pieces. I have never had the opportunity to take these apart before, so I had to figure it out as I went. When I first started it, it printed the image and stopped part way though the output. I got that sorted out. Then I tested again, and it was coming out blank and the solenoid just kept firing rapidly. I cleaned off the sticky pad and replaced it. It still does the same thing. If solenoids are known to start firing on their own, I will replace it. I'm concerned if it may be something deeper into the machine and what would cause it. I'm not concerned about advice or opinions on the age of the machine.
Thank you for your thoughts and consideration.

Nevermind. After going through it again, checking all the p's & q's, I sorted it out. Nothing like finding all about a machine 15 years after it came out.

Congratulations on your success. What did you find? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
