    hp m527 mfp spring

    Hi There,

We have a hp m527 that had a spring come out of the unit. I can't for the life of me find where it came from. I have looked at parts diagrams to try to see if I can locate the location. Of course our users aren't able to tell us how this happened. They did say that duplex stopped working after the spring came out.

Below is a picture of the spring. Can anyone help? I don't have another of these units handy to inspect/compare.

I would suspect that this spring is only slightly deformed (quite fixable/reformable), and it probably applied pressure to the plastic idler rollers in the duplexing section. You could order a new duplexer ... or you could check each idler roller to see if the pressure spring is in place. When you find the one that is missing, remove one of the like springs nearby, and reform your spring to match. Re-install both springs.

    Voila! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Does the m527 have a replaceable duplexer? Sorry, I'm not a printer tech, just an IT admin.

I would imagine so. Why don't you look it up in your service/parts manual?
You didn't even attempt to get a manual I suppose.

Well it's not to late. If you want to be a printer tech, you can start by getting a manual and doing some reading. You might be surprised to know we techs do a lot of poking around in manuals. =^..^=
