T830-finally got new main pca from HP but brown QA tape is cut but covered w clr tape

DJ T830-finally got new main pca from HP (directly, from Lincoln, CA) but brown QA tape is cut (cut right along 90 degree bend) but covered w clr tape.

What should I do? (I have waited 5 frickin weeks for this dam thing!)

I ASSUME (ASS U ME) it was "recertified" but have no real certain idea about that. Does not state that recertified.

Heh, re-certified means they certified the board was in the box and not a rock when someone sent it back. Probably a HP field service tech.


If it doesn't work, send it back to HP.

Hi, I just replaced the T830 main pca, and seems to be working OK.

Warning: watch the insertion of the 2 scanner cables. I plugged them in 1 slot too low and of course got scanner errors and for some reason it would not take sheets in at the multi-sheet tray. After I corrected the cables insertions, the multi-sheet tray would take in sheets.

Also, in view of the QA brown tape having been cut, I was relieved to see the main pca was in a sealed anti-static bag.
