I have someone offering me an HP DesignJet L26100 with extra printheads, ink, media, etc. I was researching it and it doesn't appear to have any drivers available through HP or Windows. Can anyone tell me if there are generic drivers available for this or if it's a brick at this point? I know it prints and they were using it three months ago. The business owner left everything they had (they were kicked out) and the owner of the building wants it gone. I think it's worth lugging the 400 pounds to my place to try it out, but was looking for anyone with experience to provide their opinion. Thank you in advance for your help.

From what I remember which isn't much, this printer came with a RIP (Onxy maybe?) The RIP is the go-between from Windows to the printer. Hopefully they're including it and the dongle (I think there's a dongle.) Otherwise you'd have to buy the RIP from Onyx. If they're including the PC that ran it I would think you'd be good.

If it's been sitting unused the last three months, you can count on installing those extra printheads immediately. IMHO, the only situation where I would haul this machine home is a) if I had another one in need of parts, or b) if I can see it run flawlessly right now.

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Plus, just to plug it in and turn it on, don't you need two 220V outlets?
