[Error Code] HP 4600 52.2 code

Have a customer with an hp4600 (color) 52.2 error message. Need to know possible causes/and or fix and reset procedure if any. Not sure if this is laser related, if so will cleaning of the laser assy. solve the problem?

Scanner start up error. Reseat connectors. could be scanner or prcb

The 4600 has 4 lasers. You should have gotten a 52.2x error. x should be 0 for black, 1 for cyan, 2 for magenta, and 3 for yellow.

I'd try doing what mo0651 says first and see if that fixes it. If not it's possible the motor has seized in one of the lasers. You can try lubricating it, but when it spins up the lubricant can get on the lenses. Your best bet is to replace the failed laser.

Service manual shows how to do so, it's not too bad. If you don't have the manual you can probably find it by googling or buying it from justmanuals who advertises here.

There is a certain way you want to change those lasers, you should read a manual

The laser scanners are one of the weaknesses of this machine. Listen to fixthecopier. If you replace the scanners without having the instructions and do it wrong you can permanently damage the machine (frame needs a support or the frame gets bent and the lasers will be out of alignment). Get a service manual if you do not have one.
