No matter which color laserjet it is, HP seems to always have trouble with the Magenta cartridges. Weird.Comment

By design, magenta is at the bottom of the pile of cartridges which forces mirrors in the laser to look up and collect all the dust possible floating around the inside of the machine. The surprise comes during disassembling of the laser unit, there are no dust seals under the lid to protect the precious scanner.

Someone after manuals, but before Hank copied manuals comment. I gave him a bad rep, but it seems he or someone removed the post. That's good.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".Comment

Faded print, especially magenta, is 90% dirty optics, but you have to remove the scanner and hold it up to the light to clean it really good. No parts required but it does take time. If you get in a hurry you may forget to connect something good or forget to use ESD procedures and then you have a bigger problem. I've only had to replace the power supply and the fuser other than clean the optics. The printer is not worth any other repair.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".Comment
