Intermittent jams on large jobs from tray 1. Can't seem to observe problem but copies that have jammed show significant skew . First seemed to be happening on 2 sided only, now seems to be happening on the first side of 2 sided jobs. Adjusted tension on exit rollers and strengthened paper tray springs. Waiting to see if that fixed fixed it. Rollers are fine, the only thing I can think of is maby the tray 1 feed clutch...

Re: HP Laserjet 3005
Is the tray damaged at all, how are the friction pads, and have you put some wd40 on the roller bushings at each end.sigpicComment

Re: HP Laserjet 3005
No WD40. Never. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: HP Laserjet 3005
Check the solenoids and linkages that control the duplex gates, check to see if there are little rubber sound deadening pads that are going bad and binding the works. I had that problem a while back - intermittent jams, mostly on duplex but sometimes not, and not ever enough that I could do a stop test. It drove me nuts! Then I read about the pads going bad and leaking adhesive in a previous post in this forum, and after scraping those pads off and cleaning the offending adhesive from the parts, success! And it really wasn't noticeably noisier afterward (but it was in a livestock feed store, so maybe no one noticed it).
Hope that helps.Comment
