HP LaserJet 4515 Paper Feed Z Shaft

So, clip came off shaft that gear that link feed and p/u roller and gear, spring, etc. all lost. So I return with Paper Feed Shaft Z Assy. thinking I can just swap what I need from it... however I guess HP updated the assy. with a narrower shaft so the old style shaft wont take the new clip. Long story short I ended up having to dig into machine from right and swap whole assy. Any thoughts or shortcuts? Thanks.

Thanks for reply. It does look like LJ 4250/4350 has similar style pick up shaft but can not find a part number for clip that holds the works in place. Also, not sure how HP updated the Z-Shaft assembly with out changing the ending of part number. Hopefully I won't encounter this again.

Re: HP LaserJet 4515 Paper Feed Z Shaft

I've seen broken plastic feed shafts on LJ2100, LJ4L, LJ5P, and CLJ CP3505N. Each one is a little different. If you don't mind spending two hours making a $2.00 part, I've made a few feed shafts from scratch (steel rod). They're better than any OEM part in every way. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
