HP Color LaserJet 4700 jamming 13.12.00

    [Jamming] HP Color LaserJet 4700 jamming 13.12.00

    Hi all.
    I have HP 4700 that is jamming at location 13.12.00 (duplex path, paper late jam).
    Tried new duplex unit and a new fuser unit but to no avail.
    The jamming is intermittent, it could do anything between 20-200 pages before it jams.
    Total print count is around 300k.

      Photo cells for the exit are located under the top cover, on the left side. If they are dirty, it could cause a false signal. I have also seen them get "cocked" and rub the exit actuator flag.

              Thanks for that. I have cleaned the photointerruptor under the top cover but to no avail.
              The paper feeler moves freely and its actuator flag is not rubbing against the photointerruptor.

                  Does it change state then you block the photointerruper? =^..^=
                  If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                      I dont know if this helps because you have 13.12 but I had this problem and it also had 13.12 but mainly 13.10

                          What I noticed was that the "Bin Full Sensor Flag" in question was slightly bent forward. I straightened it up, and will keep an eye on the jam history as it's very intermittent.
