    DesignJet 4000ps 79-04 coding out

    'generic' firmware error, upgraded to GW_14.1.1.1 (latest), still exists. Problem reared its head after customer replaced black unit 5 printhead and skipped replacing the printhead cleaner unit. Swapped printheads, checked printhead status and cleaner status (all read OK at this time), performed system checks with no errors. Performed printhead recovery, stared at for hours and rebooted many times, cleaned contact pads for printheads. Sub-code info:
    Code: 0xbabeface
    Severity: Error
    Priority: 3000
    ID: 0x101021a
    Description: STRING_POWER_OFF
    File: MaskManagerAndes.cpp
    Line: 364
    Class: Software
    Subclass: assert
    Error: Assertion
    Define: ASSERT_ERROR
    Descript: Assertion: "maskSize <=hidden_->memMgr_->getSlotSize()"

    Do you still need help with this? I see it's going back a couple months now.

        When do you get the error?

        If you have another 4000, try swapping the RAM too.

          I'm pretty sure we replaced the ink tube assembly and performed the tube priming, then all was good. But it's been a while...memory is a bit hazy on this one. Just be sure you get the priming cartridges too.
