    HP LaserJet 1536df MFP

As seen in the picture above, this problem tends to occur only when copying (on glass or fed through feeder), and when scanning a document to a computer. However, this problem does not occur when the customer prints. So could this be a problem with the lamp? Thank you for any help given.

Looks like you need a new scanner assembly. They don't sell just the lamp or scanner, that I know of. You have to get that whole top with the glass as an assembly. I think this is the part #: CE538-60118

Does the lamp come on? My guess is that it's lighting, but dimly. Hp offers only assemblies on these little tabletop jobs. The only way you can change just the lamp/inverter is if you can scavenge it from a junkyard donor. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
