I need this sofware for my scanner . it is bad display says load. How can I obtain it? or How can I solve it ? thanks.

Drivers and firmware for your machine should be on HP's website.

Assuming you mean the 4200 scanner, you can order the recovery media from HP. I think they charge $5 shipping. You can't download it, unfortunately.

If you can't get it from HP for some reason, let me know.. I can create ISO images and share them through Dropbox or something.

You also want to make sure you don't have a bad hard drive in the scanner PC. They fail pretty regularly because of heat. It's a little 2.5" laptop hard drive, so it's easy to get a replacement. Listen for it to spin up when you turn the PC on, and listen for it clicking repeatedly.

My sincere apologies for digging up an old thread, but I've been pulling my hair out trying to locate A N Y T H I N G for my 815mfp (800ps/dj4200). Calls to HP have resulted in "we have no idea what a Designjet 4200 is".

I would greatly appreciate an image. It's the basic touchscreen PC that shipped with the 4200, running Windows 2000. I'll also send you a private message.

Looks like HP doesn't supply those CDs any longer. Only for the 820MFP/4500.

i bought a used hp design jet 4200 scanner including the scanner, the base, test page and the pc unit with the software (windows 2000 profesional and hp software hp design jet). i did not take any other cds or other software. now my toughsceen pc crashed. can i load iso to an other pc unit whith win 2000 and make it work??

Yes, you can restore the image to a blank hard drive on another computer and it should boot. I've even done it with a virtual PC. Whatever PC you use needs to have drivers available for Windows 2000 however, specifically whatever firewire card you use.

Hi Kiran, I have a surplus HP Designjet 815mfp and can't seem to locate anyone with a Recovery CD or just an ISO Image that I could burn to a blank . Would you have any info on where I might find something or someone that has this firmware? Thanks.

Here are your two ISO discs. They both burn to a Compact Disc, one image per disc. This will allow the restoration of the touch screen PC to factory settings running Windows 2000.

pgodfrey, both images burned to CDs without incident. Thanks again. If you need a new belt for your 800 take a look at LPS computer out in Valley Center CA. They have the best belts including a life time warranty. They're a little pricey at around 50 bucks but they will last long after the print heads dry up!
