    Dell 5350dn (a.k.a Lexmark T65x Series)

Okay. Been pounding my head against the wall for over 2 weeks on this one. Initial complaint was it dropped off the network. Was told they had a "power event" (power outage). I figured a PWB had been fried. Tried the mainboard, then the Op Panel. Tried to enter Diag mode each time before a full POR to test. No change.

    Here's what happens:

    Switch power switch on
No op panel of ANY kind
    Main fan spins up

    NOTHING else.

Looked at the service manual on the power up sequence:
    Dell splash screen appears
Fuser fan turns on (doesn't make much sense.....there's no "fuser cooling fan").
    Fuser lamp turns on
System card fan (main fan) turns on
    Op panel comes alive
    Motors start spinning up

I've ordered the LVPS and am hoping..................

    Anyone have suggestions?

Forgot to mention the optional HDD is installed. I think I can hear it spinning up. If I disconnect it, I get a red flashing light on the op panel.

Hmmmmmm. Thank you for that post. Mine doesn't have an additional tray, but, I think I'm going to have to do what that poster did. Pull plugs on the mainboard until I get something.

Well, I had a little time on Friday to troubleshoot some. I started in the lower left hand corner of the mainboard and once I unplugged the connector labeled "MIRROR" (top center), I got my panel back. I thought I was good, so I plugged all the other connectors back in. No panel. I unplugged the "CFAN" (Cartridge Fan, I guess -- still had the MIRROR connector disconnected). Got my panel back. Turned the printer off and plugged the MIRROR connector back in. No panel. WTF!? I went back and forth plugging and unplugging the CFAN and the main fan connectors. Still have no definitive answer. Had to leave for a meeting. Will probably restart troubleshooting tomorrow if I have time.

Turned out to be the LVPS.

What threw me was the main fan would spin up. However, it would spin up at full speed. I didn't catch onto that. I was thinking it was more of a blown cap issue as I've seen with PC mainboards in the past.
