    XC4140 Fusers

Has anyone been having issues with the fuser unit failing way prematurely due to thermistor issues that cannot be replaced?

The replacement C4140 Fuser kit, 120V, Lexmark Part# 41X0252 cost $550.00 Canadian from Lexmark.

No warranty on premature failing parts?

We were just talking yesterday, that after such an inauspicious start the XC4140, XC4240, and C4150 have turned out to be quite reliable. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Lexmark is MIA when it comes to warranty.

Toshiba resells and relabels Lexmark product. Since Lexmark introduced their latest eTask series of product it works well and is well featured. Their market strategy is to give away the printer/copier mainframe for cheap but make money on the accessories, parts, and consumables.

Like many A4 products they sell great and are great until you have a problem.

The new C4160 that replaces the C4140 is 95% identical so there is little improvement.

... wait until expensive parts start to fail early and warranty is a pain.

It is one downside to a solid machine. We have replaced several under the 1 year warranty period. Not only does Lexmark send us a new fuser but they pay a very fair comp to do the work. Maybe 10 minutes? Most of that time is waiting for the thing to come ready.

We keep all of the fusers that have gone to yield just for the wiring harnesses. When we have a newer one go into error we bring it back and swap the harness from a known good old fuser to the one that has the error. We have one tech that does it and he is pretty fast.

Lexmark now includes a free fuser PM kit, ITM and black/color imaging units to the dealer with the purchase the C4150-XC4143 series. You don't get them with the machine but you have to wait until they need replaced and claim them under warranty.
