    X792 Tray one issues

    Good morning

Posting this for another tech so don't have a lot of information. We are primarily Sharp techs but have a few Lexmarks sprinkled here and there.

When trying to change paper type and size for tray 1 on a lexmark X792 the arrows are greyed out. Tech says he figured it out on another lexmark but it has been years since then. Wondering in anyone can offer some suggestions for him to try. I did a search but couldn't find anything on lexmarks for this problem..

Thank you for your time and effort in this matter.

I've had those cassette guides get broken when an enduser does not know how to unlock them, then uses undue force. If I remember correctly, these trays self-detect paper size, so if it's not displaying the correct paper size the guides may be moved, broken, or paper behind the tray.

Knowing the actual message on the screen would be very helpful. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I asked him what he did but didn't ask what the message is. He said he swapped trays and checked the guides. I will get back with him today to see what the message is. Thank you for the suggestions.
