    "Crackling"??

Do you mean like the sound of a cellophane wrapper being handled?

If you're hearing THAT kind of sound, it's likely you have a damaged Heat roller sleeve.

I'm not familiar with this model but in other brands you have to check the ball bearings of the fuser rollers too, they become dry (lose their inner lubrication) and make noises although the machine seems to work fine.

It is three different models: C2003, C2011, C3003.

If it is a mechanical clicking noise, replace the pressure roller gear.

              hello

it's a problem of many machines, the bearing inside the gear comes out a few mm and causes the "crackling" sound, had this last week on an MP 4554 and last month on a MP5054.

Secret here is to check your PM counters this is what they are for.

When I rebuild these fusers i'll replace the 3 gears & the sleeve if the pressure roller looks ok wont change it, but when I do change a pressure roller I always fit bearings too.

Ricoh also recommend only rebuilding fusing units twice.

Of course they do. Mo money for them, and I bet an entire fuser assembly is expensive.

We only stick to the "2 refurb" rule if the machine is 3 hours away or more.
The costs are $1061(AUD) for a complete refurb and $1075(AUD) for a new fuser.
So buying a new fuser for an account that's 3 hours or more away is a no brainer.
Refurbs for machines in town only costs us $700.
